Creepy Card Clinic Saturday, October 2nd 11:00 am - 4:00 pm $20 Chelsea will be teaching this Halloween card clinic.  You'll make 6 cards using halloween stamps, distress inks, colored pencils, and stickles. Come by any time between 11am and 4pm, the cards will only take you about an hour to do.  So whenever works for you.   Please Bring:  Adhesive, scissors and distress inks or chalks of your choice (black, grey, brown, orange, green and purple suggested).

Create this festive, vintage owl banner.  It makes a fun greeting for trick or treaters, or party going goblins and ghouls.

Materials included, please bring: wet adhesive, fluid chalk or distress inks (orange, wild honey, green, or purple suggested)

September Classes

I have a bunch of classes coming up at KatScrap Studio this month.  I am really excited actually, a couple new things I have done for a while but haven't taught yet.  It should be lots of fun, call the store and reserve your spot, it fills up quickly! 

Vintage Memory Frame Class Friday 9/10 $18

Learn to make these small, unique, wearable, framed works of art. They make great gifts, and are a different way of scrapbooking outside the album.

Please Bring: Scissors, brown distress ink or fluid chalk, and clear adhesive, tweezers may also be handy if you would like to use them.

Felted Fairy Flower Pin Class  Saturday 9/11 2pm-4pm $18 

Learn the basics of felting, which fuses wool roving together to make any design you can imagine.  It's also great to add personal flair to knit clothing, or patch holes in sweaters!  You'll go home with a lapel pin of your own design.

Materials Included

Basic Grey Sept Page of the Month Wednesday Sept 15th 6:30pm-8pm $25

Each Month is a different 2 page layout using newest lines from Basic Grey, and designed by a different designer each month.  It's great for getting new ideas on page layouts, lots of leftover paper and embelishments, and you put your own slant and theme on each layout.  It's a great group of ladies, come join the fun!

Please Bring: paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive of choice, pop dots, chalks or distress ink if desired, black journaling pen.

It's a Hoot Owl Garland Class  

Thursday Sept 23rd 6pm-8pm $28

I am especially excited about this class!!  The photo doesn't quite do it justice, come in to the store to see it in person, then sign up for the class before it's full.  4 Owls on a garland bear the message "It's A Hoot" an adorable Halloween decoration, we'll use glitter paper distressing, glimmer mist, toulle, chandelier crystals, and lots of snazzy die cut shapes to make this one.  It's going to be so fun!

Please Bring: Wet Adhesive, any Distress Inks you love, and distress tools.

Creative Side Track

Had a bit of a side track creatively.  I got busy doing a play, and costuming another, and felt a bit tapped out in the scrapbooking area.  Now I feel stuck with the crocheting and the sewing, but some classes, teachers and inspired people have come through the store and brought some fun ideas I had to run with!  Then a group of my mom's friends decided to do a class with me, and here is what I came up with!  I always do my best when I know the people  I am doing it for.  I can give it the right personality that way.  Anyway here's the Vintage Beach Album.

KatScrap Studio Grand Opening!!!

Kat Scrap Studio's Grand Opening is this weekend Saturday and Sunday May 1st & 2nd!!!  Come by and see great demonstrations of all kinds of amazing new products and techniques.  I'll be demonstrating the versatility of Crocheting, Knitting and Felting your own Embellishments, in Scrapbooking, Cardmaking and beyond!  We also have Kid's Mother's Day Card Make and Take, Tim Holtz Demo, Copic Marker Demo, both days.  Then Saturday is an incredible Glitter Demo, and Sunday and awesome Glimmer Mist Demo I can't wait to see!  

Come check it out, even if you just say "Hi!"  I will be there Sat 3-8 and Sunday 12-1ish.

My team's Design Team Challenge Project!  Each team was to dress a vintage dress form in recycled, reused and repurposed items.  Here are photos of mine.  We used a plastic party tablecloth, flowers cut from phone books, an old tin can, and a pair of satin bridesmaid shoes.  The shoes and little sassy top hat are my favorite!  


This gown and the other team's are both on display in our front windows for the Opening!
